What do Chaperones Do?

Chaperones are important to how our dance program survives.

We provide:  adult supervision, assistance with props, pass out water, monitor the girls and in general handle all the small details at football games so the teacher can teach and monitor the girls for the half time show.  We also are there for support before, during and after competitions and festivals.  For the winter and spring dance shows we in general handle all the behind the scenes duties so the show can run its course and allow the teacher to monitor everything from the sound booth.

Chaperones are parents just like you that want to help the team and also get a closer look at what exactly goes on before, during and after performances.

We have alot of fun but we also do a job.  Football game chaperones will need to do some bending and or lifting of light objects.  We also are on the track during the show.  For away games we ride the buses with the girls to supervise them.

Competition chaperones watch performances from bleechers and dance show chaperones depending on job assigned may miss some performances during the show so if you want to help, please sign up to chaperone during 1 of the 2 dance show nights, then you will be able to enjoy 1 entire dance show and help at the other one.

Emails will be sent to everyone over the summer asking for people that wish to volunteer as chaperones for football games.  As additional events come up - additional emails will be sent asking for more volunteers.  Everyone is welcome but remember at football games, we are there to work so although it is fun and we get a real close look at the girls, we still have a job to do.

In addition ALL chaperones must be a registered DIVIDEND with the county.  Information on registering as a DIVIDEND will be provided when it is needed, usually the week before school starts.

Thank you for your interest in chaperoning for the Lake Brantley Dance Team.  We welcome ALL of you and look forward to working with you this year!
