FRIDAY
Friday Meeting Location Changed:
We will meet 4:30-4:45 in the DANCE room (not the community room) because we
will be practicing with the band on the real football field before loading the
buses.
You should still come dressed in pregame attire and makeup as previously
directed. Hairspray and if you prefer bug spray must be applied BEFORE you put
on your uniform. Those sprays will destroy the sequins and discolor your
uniform.
DO NOT BE LATE!
Chaperones for Friday game will now meet in the math classroom across the hall
from the dance room. No parents are allowed with the dancers once they are
dropped off except chaperones. We hope you all attend the game to see our first
performance!
BEHAVIOR
In years past when we attend an away game at Apopka there are sometimes
inappropriate behavior from the opposing fans as we enter and exit the stadium
and while on the field. Just remember we are a PROFESSIONAL dance team and band
and we will always act appropriately. We have plenty of adult chaperones in
attendance to ensure everyones safety. We are advised to ignore any rude or
offensive comments.
PRACTICES
All dancers must have plain NAVY and RED soffees for practices. Ms. Mote will
have them available on Thursday for sale for $6.00 for your convenience. Some
dancers were benched Tuesday because they didn't have the correct shorts.
This information went out in May. Please make sure your dancer has the correct
uniforms for everything we do.
Next week practice schedule:
Tuesday 3-5
Wednesday 2-4
CANDY
All candy money from the 1st box must be turned in by this Friday. Most dancers
have sold above and beyond and will be able to use the extra money for anything
dance team related. The dancer who sells the most will win
a beautiful coach tote.
DC Trip
The band reports to me they have 61 girls slated to attend the DC Trip. I have
received responses from only 52. In addition the band reports payments from 3
dancers and I have some payments but MANY are missing with regard to the
deposit. If you plan on going I MUST have you send me an email ASAP and your
deposit must be received by September 8th. No students can be added after that
point.
Chaperones for DC Trip
The band reports that 23 dance parents have signed up to chaperone. As you know
we do not need to take 23 adults for 50-60 kids as chaperones. I currently have
received notification from 3 parents wishing to chaperone. If you wanted to
chaperone, you MUST advise ME of your request. The band is no longer tracking
our information - I am. Ms. Mote will let those chaperoning know by the end of
September as that is when the band is announcing their chaperones.
GAME
The dance team will NOT be attending the game on Thursday September 16th. The
away stands are not large enough to hold our band and danceteam because of our
large size. You can of course attend as a fan in the stands if you wish.
PERFORMANCE
This Friday is our first performance. The girls have worked hard and will make
us proud! Please try to come out to Apopka and support the girls. They really
enjoy seeing familiar faces sitting along side them in the stands.
