The manufacturer of our red and blue unitards has given us instructions on how to clean and care for these items.
We have cleaned one of the uniforms using this method and achieved great smelling results! Please follow these instructions and clean your daughters uniform as soon as possible after each wearing. You will need a bottle of Woolite and please note that you need to allow a minimum of 24 hours for it dry.
LOOSE SEQUINS? DO NOT CUT THEM!
Simply obtain fabric glue at a local craft store and carefully glue the sequins back on. Cuttinig the sequins will start a run and then you will loose more of them.
IMPORTANT!!!
These uniforms can only be washed by HAND. Do not place in the washing machine or dryer.
- Pour a capful of Woolite in a large sink. Fill the sink about half way with COLD water.
- Turn the unitard inside out (sequins to the inside) and lay flat in the sink.
- Press on the top to saturate it with the soap and water. Turn over and do again. DO NOT wring the garment or squish it together.
- Let the top soak for about 5 minutes – squishing the water and soap through it several times.
- Rinse thoroughly with COLD water. Again - DO NOT twist or wring the unitard.
- Keeping the garment inside out lay it on a large bath towel and GENTLY roll it – start at the top so you are going in the same direction as the sequins – to get the excess water out. This needs to be done very gently so you don’t bend the sequins.
- Lay FLAT to dry. (Takes about 24 hours) DO NOT place in dryer!
